Six ways it looks out for you

Nothing to
be nervous about.

The first chainsaw is the one people hesitate over. The HC-6002 layers six separate protections into a 1.87 lb body — so the tool stays predictable while you're still learning what you're doing with it.

Safety lock

A deliberate two-step start. It won't fire because you brushed the trigger.

Anti-splash baffle

Blocks the chips and sawdust that would otherwise come straight back at you.

Anti-slip handle

Textured rubber that holds through damp mornings and sweaty afternoons.

Overheat protection

Cuts power before the motor runs hot, then lets you pick right back up.

Overload protection

Senses a bind or a pinch and stops rather than fighting through it.

Anti-drop chain

Chain retention that keeps it seated on the bar instead of throwing it mid-cut.

Safety goggles included in every kit.

Not sold separately, not an upsell. Read the manual before first use — no protection system replaces good technique and proper gear.

HC-6002 one-handed operation

Light & approachable

1.87 lbs. Hold it all afternoon.

Most cordless chainsaws ask you to wrestle them. The HC-6002 weighs less than a full kettle — light enough to run one-handed, overhead, at arm's length, without your forearm giving out ten minutes in.

  • 1.87 lbs bare · 3.31 lbs with batteryOur lightest saw, and lighter than most cordless drills.
  • Built for one handBalanced so the other hand stays free to steady the branch.

Small, not underpowered

Light in the hand. Not in the cut.

Being the lightest saw in the range doesn't mean settling. An 880W brushless motor drives the chain at 33 ft/s and takes branches up to 3.15 inches thick — the size that actually piles up in a backyard.

  • 880W brushless motorRuns cooler and lasts longer than a brushed motor, with fewer wear parts.
  • 6″ bar, blue steel chainQuenched for a clean cut that helps the branch heal faster.

HC-6002 automatic chain oiler

Nothing to remember

It oils itself while you work.

Chain oiling is the step people skip, and a dry chain is what wears a saw out early. The HC-6002 handles it on its own — the built-in oiler feeds the chain evenly as it runs, so all you do is keep the reservoir topped up.

  • Automatic chain oilingEven lubrication through the cut, no stopping to dab oil on the bar.
  • Longer chain & bar lifeLess friction means fewer replacement parts down the line.

Cordless, and ready

Two batteries. Swap and keep going.

No gas, no pull cord, no extension lead trailing across the lawn. Two 21V batteries come in the box and the 2-in-1 charger fills both at once — so when one runs down, you're back to work in seconds instead of waiting.

  • 2-in-1 fast chargerBoth batteries at once, full in 2–3 hours.
  • 21V platform, shared across the rangeAdd an HS-30 or an HC-6001 later and the batteries carry straight over.

No shopping list, no "sold separately." The kit arrives complete — including the two things most brands leave out: a second battery, and a charger that fills both at once.

Compare the range

Need to cut something thicker?

The HC-6002 is the lightest saw we make, and it tops out at 3.15″. If your pile is bigger than that, one of these is the better buy.

Full comparison

All four run on the same 21V battery platform — add a second tool later and your batteries and charger carry straight over.

Giving one

For someone who'd never buy themselves a chainsaw.

Most power tools are gifts people are slightly afraid of. At 1.87 lbs, this one isn't — it's light enough to pick up without hesitating, and it arrives complete, so there's no follow-up trip to the hardware store.

  • Light enough for almost anyone — 1.87 lbs
  • Two batteries, charger, goggles — nothing sold separately
  • 60-day returns if it isn't right

Hobuza cordless mini chainsaw, easy enough to share
1.87 lbs Light enough to hand to anyone

1.87 lbs on its own, 3.31 lbs with a battery in. That's lighter than most cordless drills, and roughly a pound less than our HC-6001.

In practice it means you can hold it at arm's length or overhead without your forearm giving out — which is where most of the fatigue in this kind of work comes from.

Branches up to 3.15 inches (80 mm) thick — shrubs, limbs, storm cleanup, small firewood. That covers the large majority of what actually piles up in a backyard.

Past 3.15 inches you want the HC-6001, which takes a full 6-inch branch. And neither is a felling saw.

No — and it's a fair thing to ask. The HC-6002 runs an 880W brushless motor at 33 ft/s, which is more rated power than our heavier HC-6001.

The difference between the two isn't strength, it's reach: a shorter effective cut and a lighter body, not a weaker motor.

It's who we built this one for. Six protections run in the background: a safety lock, an anti-splash baffle, an anti-slip handle, overheat and overload cutoffs, and anti-drop chain retention.

Safety goggles are in the box. Read the manual and wear proper gear — that part is on you, and it matters more than any of the above.

That depends entirely on what you're cutting — dry pine and green oak are very different jobs, and anyone quoting a flat number is guessing.

What we can tell you: two 21V 2.0Ah batteries are included, the 2-in-1 charger fills both at once in 2–3 hours, and you can swap mid-job and keep going.

Less than you'd expect. The automatic oiler feeds the chain while you cut, so the step most people skip happens on its own — just keep the reservoir topped up.

Beyond that: brush the bar clean after use, and swap in the spare chain when the old one dulls.

Yes — every Hobuza tool runs on the same 21V lithium platform. Add an HS-30 pruner or an HC-6001 later and your batteries and charger carry straight over, so a second tool doesn't mean a second set of batteries.

Every HC-6002 is covered by a 2-year warranty, and you have 60 days to return it if it isn't right.
